In the fall of 2016, Blackstone’s primary contractor, Pidherney’s, started bringing Sixty West to life. With their large equipment on site, they formed one of our many amenities by digging our on site pond and started to prep the area for further servicing.
We are lucky that Sylvan Lake is truly Brilliant All Year and a destination for 1 million visitors while still maintaining a small-town charm. The multiplex offers skating and curling, and the community has an abundance of outdoor ice rinks, ice fishing and snowmobiling, and snowy paths to explore.
There have been rumours circulating but now it’s official: Marlis Hansen, Monica Sylvester and Marcine Woyky, the three daughters of Ed and Glenda Pogadl, have generously donated 20 acres of land to the Town of Sylvan Lake to be developed into a sports park; field house and all.
The land upon which Sixty West and Waterford Station is being developed has an interesting history; and with it comes a debt of gratitude to the Ada family, who lovingly cared for the land for over sixty years.
